PRODUCT LINE OVERVIEW
Hexagon is a “full line” supplier of polymers, including both flocculants and coagulants. Custom made polymers add to our broad spectrum of products. This offers many advantages to our customers in terms of lower polymer usage, high efficiency performance and lower applied cost. In addition, we offer a full line of defoamers, paint detackifiers, and metal scavengers.
POLYACRYLAMIDE EMULSIONS
Liquid flocculants (polymers) can be differentiated by their:
- Ionic character: cationic, anionic or non-ionic
- Structure: linear, branched or crosslinked
- Charge density (ionic intensity): high, medium, or low
- Molecular weight: high, medium, or low
- Inversion package
- NSF approval for drinking water applications
Cationic emulsion polymers are used in a large number of industries and applications, including:
- Municipal sewage treatment plants
- Food, dairy, and meat processing plants
- Paper mills (retention & drainage aids)
Cationic emulsion polymers are often used with the following equipment:
- Belt press
- Centrifuges
- DAF unit
- Screw presses
- Filter presses
- Thickeners
Anionic emulsion polymers are used in a large number of industries and applications, including:
- Metal finishing
- Mining
- Food processing
- Paper mills
- Drinking water plants
Non-ionic emulsion polymers are typically used in the following applications:
- Drinking water plants
- Paper mills
POLYACRYLAMIDE DRY POLYMERS
Cationic, anionic and non-ionic polymers are all available in dry/powder form. Typical applications are the same as with liquid emulsions.
COAGULANTS
Hexagon offers a full line of coagulants in various chemistries:
- Polydimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride (polydadmac)
- Polyepiamines
- Aluminum based products (including ACH, PAC)
- Custom made proprietary products
Polydadmaks
Polydadmaks are available in several concentrations and viscosities. The most popular are 20% and 40% active products in a wide range of viscosities and molecular weights. Most products are NSF approved for drinking water plants.
Polyepiamines (Polyamines)
Polyamines are most popular in 50% active form, but diluted products are also available due to high viscosity considerations. Most products are NSF approved for drinking water plants.
Aluminum Based Products
Typical products are:
- Polyaluminum chlorohydrate (ACH)
- Polyaluminum chloride (PAC)
- Sodium aluminate
- Aluminum chloride & sulfate solutions
Blended Coagulant Products
Hexagon offers several custom-made proprietary blends of various coagulants. The nature of the blend and components will depend on applications and performance requirements. At least 4 blends are available on short notice.
PAINT DETACKIFIERS
Hexagon offers several paint detackifiers under our Hexafloc PD Series. Most of the applications are in automotive industry and in paint spray booths.
OIL-IN-WATER EMULSION BREAKERS
Hexagon has a number of products to separate oil from water. Primary users are automotive and parts industry, steel mills, metal processing plants, and oil recovery/recycling industry.
DEFOAMERS
Hexagon carries a full line of defoamer chemistries as follows:
- Water based
- Oil based
- Silicone based (10%, 20%, 30%)
- Water extended
- Food grade and Kosher grade
METAL SCAVENGERS/PRECIPITANTS
Hexagon carries metal scavengers and precipitants that are often used to remove heavy metals such as zinc, hexavalent chrome, copper, and nickel from various wastestreans.

Hexagon has a full line of paper chemicals that have been used both domestically and internationally in paper mills.
